Founded in 1965 by Jacques GENEST, S.E.F.I. (Sondages-Etanchements-Forages-Injections) was taken over by the FAYAT Group which acquired a 51% shareholding in the company, changing the name to S.E.F.I. (Société d’Etudes de Fondations et d’Injections – Foundations and Injections Engineering Company).

In 1999, the FAYAT Group purchased all the company shares, thus becoming the sole owner of SEFI.

In 2003, SEFI took over the assets and goodwill of the INTRAFOR Company. The new entity then adopted the name of SEFI-INTRAFOR.

The company operates in the performance of all types of deep foundations or underground work;

• diaphragm walls and foundation barrettes,
• soldier pile walls, nailed retaining walls, shotcrete,
• cut-off walls,
• ground anchors,
• geotechnical surveys,
• micro-piles and piles,
• grouting and jet grouting,
• rural water supply.

With its extensive technical expertise and recognised know-how, SEFI-INTRAFOR is equipped with an in-house engineering office for design and implementation work.

The company staff of 350 people call upon their experience and technical expertise to serve customers with due observance of budget, quality and lead-time commitments. With its concern to ensure the development of the potential of its staff, the company had adopted a training programme in step with technological progress in its core businesses.

SEFI-INTRAFOR benefits from an extensive fleet of 21 mobile cranes, 35 large diameter drilling rigs, 40 small diameter drilling rigs, 32 production and grouting units enabling the company to handle all types of work in the widest possible range of conditions.

For 2006, SEFI-INTRAFOR will achieve a turnover of 60 million Euros, with 16% in exports.

The FAYAT Group, which also owns SOTRAISOL FONDATIONS, FRANKI FONDATION and SOLS & FONDATIONS, thus benefits from a wide-reaching “Foundation” division, capable of handling all problems of soils and foundations, both in France and overseas, with a total turnover in the order of 165 million Euros.

The majority of the human and material resources are on the site of GRIGNY, but regional offices are to be found within the vicinity of all the customers of the “Foundations” division, in Vitrolles, Lyon, Roubaix, Arbois, Le Havre and Nantes in France, and with international offices in Poland, Egypt, U.A.E., Spain and Africa.
